How Cat Are You?

Privacy Policy

Effective 16 October 2026

How Cat Are You? saves your game on your device. You do not need a player account. This page explains how the game, its service providers and this website handle information, and how you can manage your choices.

In short

  • No account is needed; your game progress stays on your device.
  • Ads are non-personalized. The app does not request ATT permission or access IDFA.
  • Analytics stays off until the privacy check resolves. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland it needs consent; elsewhere it is on by default. Turn it off in Settings → Analytics.
  • Crash reports are on from first launch, with a separate switch in Settings → Crash reports.
  • For a data-deletion request, email support@alexcozygames.com. See your choices and rights below.

Who is responsible

Alex Vaitsiakhovich, trading as Alex Cozy Games, Cyprus, provides How Cat Are You? and is responsible for information handled for the game, website and support. Contact support@alexcozygames.com.

Services used by the game

The game uses Apple in-app purchases through StoreKit 2, Google AdMob with UMP, Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and Remote Config, and AppsFlyer Strict. Availability of purchases and ads depends on store approval, in-game configuration, connectivity and your privacy choices. Optional analytics, advertising choices and crash reports have separate controls, described below.

On your device

The game keeps progress through shops and shifts, paw ratings, coins, keys, unlocked cat looks and furniture, event results, purchase-delivery records and preferences such as sound, language and controls. This local profile is not uploaded to a developer-operated gameplay or cloud-save server. We do not ask for your name, email or date of birth to play, or for access to contacts, photos, camera, microphone or precise location.

The app does not request Apple App Tracking Transparency permission or access the IDFA advertising identifier. The absence of IDFA does not make service data anonymous or mean that no identifiers are processed.

Apple purchases

Apple processes payments through StoreKit 2 and the app uses Apple transaction verification and permanent entitlements to deliver and restore eligible products. We do not receive your payment card details or Apple Account password. Product and transaction identifiers may be stored on the device to avoid duplicate delivery. When Analytics is on, verified purchase events include the product, price, currency and transaction ID. We do not send raw receipts, signed transaction payloads (JWS) or payment details to analytics services. Restores and unverified purchases are not sent as purchase events.

Apple operates the App Store under the Apple Privacy Policy. Restore Purchases recovers eligible permanent entitlements, not deleted campaign progress. See license and purchase information for all benefits.

Advertising

The game includes optional rewarded videos and occasional interstitial ads between eligible completed shifts. Google Mobile Ads delivers and measures ads. Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) checks applicable regional requirements and presents required choices before ads may be requested. The app requests non-personalized ads. These ads can still use data for delivery, frequency limits, measurement, security and fraud prevention.

Google advertising services may process IP addresses and approximate location, device or installation identifiers, advertising interactions and diagnostics. Advertising choices are separate from the gameplay Analytics switch. Settings → Privacy choices opens Google’s privacy form where UMP makes it available for your region.

Read Google’s Privacy Policy, information about Google partner apps and Google’s advertising data disclosure.

Analytics

AppsFlyer and Google Analytics for Firebase help us measure sessions, tutorial and shift results, offers, advertising revenue and verified purchases. Data can include installation identifiers, device and app information, event times, network information, product and transaction identifiers, values and currencies. We do not send your full saved game, name, email, payment card details or raw Apple receipts as gameplay events.

Before Google’s UMP privacy check resolves, Firebase Analytics and AppsFlyer are off. Events from that time are dropped, not queued. In the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom and Switzerland, they start only after you consent in Google’s privacy form; declining consent keeps them off. Elsewhere, they are on by default after the privacy check resolves. You can turn Analytics off at any time in Settings → Analytics, or change applicable regional choices through Settings → Privacy choices. US-state privacy messages are also available through Privacy choices. Your Analytics switch choice is saved. Declining analytics does not prevent gameplay or purchases. Advertising services may still process data for their own delivery and measurement under the advertising choices described above.

AppsFlyer uses its Strict SDK without IDFA. IP masking and the app’s partner-sharing filter are enabled. Under the current configuration, AppsFlyer data is not shared with advertising partners. Other installation identifiers and network data can still be processed. See the AppsFlyer Services Privacy Policy and Google Privacy Policy.

Apple’s SKAdNetwork provides aggregate advertising attribution reports. Separately, when Analytics is on, AppsFlyer performs installation attribution using its own installation ID and Apple’s identifier for vendor (IDFV). This includes Apple Ads attribution through Apple’s AdServices token. These flows do not use the IDFA advertising identifier; AppsFlyer installation attribution is not limited to aggregate SKAdNetwork reports.

Turning Analytics off through the switch or applicable privacy choices disables Firebase Analytics collection and stops AppsFlyer measurement. The app also enables AppsFlyer’s anonymization setting when stopping it. Turning Analytics on again resumes measurement; previously dropped events are not replayed. Turning it off does not automatically delete records already received by providers. Contact us for access or deletion requests.

Crash reports and game settings

Firebase Crashlytics is on by default from first launch to help us diagnose crashes and improve reliability. We process these crash reports on the basis of our legitimate interests in keeping the game stable and secure. This setting is separate from Analytics. You can turn reporting off in Settings → Crash reports. Reports may contain crash traces, app and operating-system versions, device information and installation identifiers. Turning the control off does not automatically delete previously submitted reports. Firebase Performance Monitoring is not included.

Firebase Remote Config fetches operational settings, including advertising frequency and store-availability flags. It uses Firebase installation identifiers and operates independently of the optional Analytics switch. It does not upload your saved game. See Firebase’s privacy and security information for service processing, retention and deletion.

Optional notifications

If you enable reminders, they require iOS notification permission. You can turn them off in iOS Settings → Notifications → How Cat Are You?. A notification choice is separate from permission for analytics or advertising. We do not use this choice to subscribe you to a marketing mailing list.

Support and this website

If you email us, we receive your address, message, attachments and email metadata to answer and investigate your request. Please share only relevant information. Support mail uses Google Workspace/Gmail; incoming mail is also copied to the developer’s private inbox for handling support. Both copies are covered by requests to us.

This static site uses Firebase Hosting. Its provider receives ordinary request information such as IP address and requested URL to deliver and protect the site. We add no analytics, ad scripts, tracking pixels, cookies, embedded forms or remote fonts to these pages. Opening an email link does not send a message automatically.

Legal grounds, protection and retention

For Firebase Analytics and AppsFlyer measurement, we rely on consent where required, including in the EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland. Elsewhere, we rely on our legitimate interests in understanding and improving the game, with the option to turn Analytics off at any time. We also rely on contract necessity for requested support and purchase functionality, legitimate interests for proportionate reliability diagnostics and security, and legal obligations when required. Advertising choices and applicable bases are explained in the regional messages and Google’s disclosures. We do not make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

We limit access to support records and use protected provider accounts. Google, AppsFlyer and Apple may process information outside your country; their linked privacy notices and contractual terms explain safeguards and transfer mechanisms. No system guarantees absolute security.

Local progress remains until app data is deleted. Support correspondence is kept only as long as needed to handle enquiries, related issues, legal requirements or disputes, then deleted or de-identified. Provider records follow their service retention and deletion processes. Firebase currently describes 90-day Crashlytics retention before removal begins; Remote Config installation identifiers remain until deletion is requested through its supported process. Analytics records follow the configured provider retention periods and supported deletion processes; contact us for details or a deletion request. Uninstalling does not automatically erase provider records.

Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability, and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Email support@alexcozygames.com with the game name, app version and your request. We may ask for the minimum information needed to locate and verify relevant records, and will respond within applicable legal time limits. You may complain to your local data-protection authority.

Use Settings to turn Analytics or Crash reports off and Privacy choices to review applicable advertising choices. Contact us if you need help finding a control. There is no player account to delete.

To remove local data, use iOS Settings → General → iPhone Storage → How Cat Are You? → Delete App. Offload App keeps documents and data. This does not erase Apple purchase records or provider records. Device backups may retain app data and restore it later; we cannot remotely delete your local save.

Children

How Cat Are You? is intended for a general audience and is not directed specifically at children. There is no chat or user-posting feature. Parents or guardians should manage purchases, permissions and support requests for children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.

Changes

We will revise this policy when actual data practices change and provide any required notice or choices. Questions are welcome at support@alexcozygames.com.
